Watch “Run Run Run Run by Jack Carson” on YouTube

Run, Run, Run was sung in calypso style by Jack Carson in Romance on the High Seas. He just found out that heroine of the movie played by Doris Day had been lying to him and he felt he had to warn the world of men against pretty women.

Funny how the other side is always the one causing problems no matter what “side” your on.

Run, Run, Run is the song I think of when I’m watching a movie or show and I see things shaping up very “badly” for the hero. The heroine has just baited a trap to get the hero to do something for her and I’m sitting on the couch saying “don’t do it there is something else she wants this is just the first step.” They never listen… with that said it always turns out right in the end… in the movies at least.

But hey what guy in his right mind would want to be a hero for a pretty girl.

“Phil Harris – The Thing 1950” on YouTube

In 1950 Phil Harris recorded the the song “The Thing” it made #1 on the hit charts. The other two people made a recordings that year were Danny Kaye with his spin on the song and Teresa Brewer singing the female version.

Since Phil Harris sang said song first the big question of the decade was, “Phil what did you find in wooden box floating in the bay?”

Alice Faye , a popular singer, said she asked him on their honeymoon and he didn’t even give her a strait answer.

The conversation of the song came up more then a few times on their NBS radio show they hosted together.

A song a like to listen when I what something to smile about.

Watch “Lynn Anderson – If I Kiss You” on YouTube

I was driving tractor trailer when I first heard this song. When I was at a truck stop I saw a CD of Lynn Anderson and wanting something new to listen to  and if I remember correctly it was under 10 bucks I decided to  buy it.

When I heard the song I laughed and laughed. Now and again things touch my funny bone and the paradox of the situation and the releasing of tension of a ten hour drive it was great.

No one sings it like Lynn Anderson
